COVID-19 Vaccine Information for City of Fort Worth Employees
Dec. 31, 2020
Tarrant County is beginning to offer government employees, which includes all City of Fort Worth employees, the opportunity to receive the COVID vaccine. Tests have shown that the vaccine is safe and effective in preventing the spread of COVID -19, and we encourage city employees to take advantage of this opportunity.
Step 1
- Visit tarrantcounty.com/covidshot and complete the sign-up form.
- When registering, use the following identifiers:
- Field of Work:
- Firefighters – Fire
- Law enforcement/public safety – Police and Marshals
- Government Worker – General employees
- Employer: CFW
- Do not use the same email for multiple people.
- Age and certain medical conditions can give employees priority in the appointment process. Please fill out the form completely.
- Based on your answers, Tarrant County Public Health will determine when you receive a vaccination. You will receive an email from the County to let you know your appointment details.
- Be patient. It can take time to receive an appointment.
- Check junk or spam email.
Step 2
You will be notified when you are scheduled for the vaccine. This will include the provider, any additional actions that are required, and the date, time and location for your appointment. Demand and availability will determine how long it will take to get an appointment. Vaccine supplies are released each week, and your screening criteria questions are reviewed to prioritize who will receive the vaccine and in what order by Tarrant County.
There is no cost to you, whether you have insurance or not. If you do have health insurance though, take your insurance card with you.
In addition to the vaccines currently being offered through the Tarrant County website, the city is also looking at other opportunities to offer the vaccine to city employees. More information will be provided as these arrangements are finalized.
To find out more about the vaccine and its safety and validity, visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/expect/after.html.
We encourage all employees to continue to practice safety precautions as we enter the next phase of our response to COVID-19.
