HORIZON ROAD BRIDGE CLOSES AT I-30 IN ROCKWALL STARTING OCT. 16
ROCKWALLCO – Weather permitting, all lanes of Horizon Road Bridge will be closed and detoured at I-30 starting at 10 p.m. Friday, October 16 through 5 a.m. Monday, October 19. Once the work is complete, drivers should be alert to a new traffic pattern on the bridge and new connections to frontage road lanes.
Drivers should follow posted detour signs and plan for extra travel time. As progress continues, check drivetexas.org for daily lane closures. Any major scheduled closures will be announced in advance, and there is an option to sign up for text alerts.
The $348 million I-30 corridor expansion project will widen the interstate and add continuous frontage roads from SH 205 to the Hunt County Line, and will add new frontage road bridges across Lake Ray Hubbard. The overall project is expected to be complete by early 2028. This work is part of TxDOT’s Texas Clear Lanes effort to relieve congestion in major metropolitan areas.
