 WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will require closures for bridge construction:
- Loop 1604 eastbound (EB) mainlanes at the I-10 interchange
- Loop 1604 westbound (WB) mainlanes from the Lockhill Selma Road exit ramp to the Babcock Road entrance ramp
- I-10 EB mainlanes two left lanes at the Loop 1604 interchange
- I-10 EB bypass lane and connected ramps
- I-10 EB frontage road south of the Loop 1604 interchange
- I-10 WB mainlanes and connected ramps at the Loop 1604 interchange
These nightly closures are expected from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025 through Monday, June 2, 2025, weather permitting. Law enforcement will direct traffic through intersections during this time, as needed. Please follow detour signage.
DETOUR INFORMATION
Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes
Traffic traveling on the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes looking to continue through the I-10 interchange will follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers will enter the I-10 EB mainlanes and exit via Exit 557 to enter the I-10 EB frontage road. They will use the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard, entering the I-10 WB frontage road. They will follow the I-10 WB frontage road to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Traffic will be able enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
Loop 1604 WB Mainlanes and the I-10 EB
Traffic traveling on the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes looking to continue through the I-10 interchange will exit via the Lockhill Selma Road exit and follow the Loop 1604 WB frontage road through the I-10 interchange. Traffic will be able enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes via the entrance ramp after Babcock Road. Those looking to access I-10 EB will keep right at the I-10 interchange, entering the I-10 WB frontage road. They will follow the I-10 WB frontage road to the turnaround at La Cantera Boulevard, entering the I-10 EB frontage road. Travelers may then enter the I-10 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
I-10 EB to Loop 1604 EB
Traffic traveling on I-10 EB looking to access Loop 1604 EB will travel through the Loop 1604 interchange and exit via Exit 557 to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Travelers will then follow the Loop 1604 EB detour.
I-10 EB Frontage Road
Travelers on the I-10 EB frontage road looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange will turn right onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. They will use the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway to enter the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. They will enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes and follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers may exit via Exit 557 to re-enter the I-10 EB frontage road.
I-10 WB Mainlanes and to Loop 1604 WB
Travelers on the I-10 WB mainlanes looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange will exit via Exit 556 B entering the I-10 WB frontage road. Travelers will continue through the Loop 1604 interchange and re-enter the I-10 WB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp. Those looking to access Loop 1604 WB will turn left onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road and follow the Loop 1604 WB detour.

- I-10 eastbound (EB) frontage road south of the Loop 1604 interchange
- I-10 WB mainlanes two right lanes at the Loop 1604 interchange
- I-10 WB bypass lane and connected ramps
These daytime closures are expected from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 and Sunday, June 1, 2025, weather permitting. Law enforcement will direct traffic through intersections during this time, as needed. Please follow detour signage.

I-10 EB Frontage Road
Travelers on the I-10 EB frontage road looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange will turn right onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. They will use the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway to enter the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. They will enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes and follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers may exit via Exit 557 to re-enter the I-10 EB frontage road.
I-10 WB to Loop 1604 WB
Travelers on the I-10 WB mainlanes looking to access Loop 1604 WB will exit via Exit 556 B, entering the I-10 WB frontage road. Travelers will turn left onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. They will follow the Loop 1604 WB frontage road entering the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes via the entrance ramp after Babcock Road.
