FRIDAY NIGHT CLOSURE
9 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025
through 5 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025
 WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will require closures for bridge construction:
- US 281 northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) mainlanes at the Loop 1604 interchange
- Loop 1604 eastbound (EB) and westbound (WB) frontage roads at the US 281 interchange
- Loop 1604 EB mainlane from Stone Oak Parkway to the US 281 interchange
- Loop 1604 WB mainlane from Gold Canyon Road to the US 281 interchange
These Friday night closures will occur from 9 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025 through 5 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, weather permitting. Law enforcement will direct traffic through intersections during this time, as needed. Please follow detour signage.
DETOUR INFORMATION
US 281 NB Mainlanes Detour
All traffic looking to continue on the US 281 NB mainlanes through the Loop 1604 interchange will exit via the Henderson Pass exit. They will continue on the US 281 NB frontage road through the Loop 1604 interchange and re-enter the US 281 NB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
US 281 SB Mainlanes Detour
All traffic looking to continue on the US 281 SB mainlanes through the Loop 1604 interchange will exit via the Redland Road exit. They will continue on the US 281 SB frontage road through the Loop 1604 interchange and re-enter the US 281 SB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes and Frontage Road Detour
All Loop 1604 EB mainlane traffic will exit via the exit ramp just before US 281 to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Traffic will turn right onto the US 281 SB frontage road and follow it to the Donella Drive turnaround. Traffic will then follow the US 281 NB frontage road back to Loop 1604 and turn right onto the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Traffic may re-enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
Loop 1604 WB Mainlanes and Frontage Road Detour
All Loop 1604 WB mainlane traffic will exit via the exit ramp just before US 281 to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Traffic will turn right onto the US 281 NB frontage road and follow it to the Redland Road turnaround. Traffic will then follow the US 281 SB frontage road back to Loop 1604 and turn right onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Traffic may re-enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.

Traffic will then follow the US 281 NB frontage road back to Loop 1604 and turn right onto the Loop 1604 EB frontage road.
Loop 1604 WB Frontage Road Detour
All Loop 1604 WB frontage road traffic looking to travel through the US 281 interchange will turn right onto the US 281 NB frontage road and follow it to the Redland Road turnaround. Traffic will then follow the US 281 SB frontage road back to Loop 1604 and turn right onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road.
