 WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will require closures on the Loop 1604 eastbound (EB) mainlanes, Loop 1604 EB collector-distributor and Loop 1604 EB frontage road at the I-10 interchange. Additionally, there will be closures on the Loop 1604 westbound (WB) mainlanes at the I-10 interchange, the I-10 WB frontage road at the I-10 interchange, the I-10 EB frontage road north of Loop 1604, the I-10 EB exit ramp south of La Cantera Parkway (exit 556 B) and the I-10 WB to Loop 1604 EB exit ramp. The cloverleaf ramps from Loop 1604 WB to I-10 WB and I-10 EB to Loop 1604 EB will also be closed. These closures will be in place for bridge construction and bent cap placement.
The closures are expected from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 through 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, weather permitting. This is a weekend closure and these lanes are expected to remain closed for the duration. Please note these are the minimum closures required for the anticipated work. All closures are subject to change and modification as necessary. Local law enforcement will direct traffic through intersections during this time.
DETOUR INFORMATION
I-10 EB to Loop 1604 EB
All travelers on the I-10 EB mainlanes looking to access Loop 1604 EB will continue through the Loop 1604 interchange and exit to the I-10 EB frontage road via Exit 557 and utilize the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard. They will follow the I-10 WB frontage road to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road, entering the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
I-10 WB Mainlanes to Loop 1604 EB I-10 WB frontage road
All travelers on the I-10 WB mainlanes looking to access Loop 1604 EB will exit via Exit 556 B to the I-10 WB frontage road. They will follow the I-10 WB frontage road, veering right onto the Loop 1604 EB frontage road, and then enter the mainlanes at the first available entrance ramp. Travelers looking to access the I-10 WB frontage road after the interchange/The RIM shopping center, will continue on the Loop 1604 EB frontage road until reaching Lockhill Selma Road, and utilize the turnaround back onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road lanes. Traffic may access the I-10 WB frontage road from the Loop 1604 WB frontage road, allowing access to the RIM shopping center.
Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes and to I-10 WB
All travelers on the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes will exit at the Vance Jackson Road exit to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road and follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers will utilize the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard, entering the I-10 WB frontage road. Those looking to access the I-10 WB mainlanes will utilize the first available entrance ramp. Those looking to return to Loop 1604 EB will follow the I-10 WB frontage road to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road, entering the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
Loop 1604 WB Mainlanes
All travelers on the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes will exit to the Loop 1604 WB collector-distributor lane just before the I-10 interchange. Those wanting to stay on the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes will continue through the I-10 interchange, exiting to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road after the I-10 interchange, then re-entering the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes at the first available entrance ramp, just before La Cantera Parkway.
Please note these are the minimum closures required for the anticipated work. All closures are subject to change and modification as necessary.

Additionally, the I-10 WB to Loop 1604 EB exit ramp, the Loop 1604 WB to I-10 WB exit ramp, and all but one cloverleaf ramp will be closed. They will follow the I-10 WB frontage road to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road, entering the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
I-10 WB Mainlanes to Loop 1604 WB
All travelers on the I-10 WB mainlanes looking to access Loop 1604 WB will exit via Exit 556 B to the I-10 WB frontage road. They will follow the I-10 WB frontage road and turn left at the signalized intersection onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Travelers may enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes at the first available entrance ramp.
Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes and to I-10 WB
All travelers on the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes will exit at the Vance Jackson Road exit to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road and follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers will utilize the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard, entering the I-10 WB frontage road. Those looking to access the I-10 WB
mainlanes will utilize the first available entrance ramp. Those looking to return to Loop 1604 EB will follow the I-10 WB frontage road to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road, entering the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
Loop 1604 WB Mainlanes and to I-10 WB
All travelers looking to continue on the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes will exit to the Loop 1604 WB collector-distributor lane and travel through the I-10 interchange to exit onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road just before Agave Pass/Valero Way. Traffic can re-enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes at the next available entrance ramp. Traffic looking to access I-10 WB will exit to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road just before the I-10 interchange. Travelers will utilize the signalized left turn onto the I-10 EB frontage road and will continue on the I-10 EB frontage road to the UTSA Boulevard turnaround, entering the I-10 WB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
