 WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will require closures of the I-10 westbound (WB) collector-distributor at the Loop 1604 interchange, I-10 WB mainlane right lane at the Loop 1604 interchange, the I-10 eastbound (EB) frontage road north of Loop 1604, the I-10 EB exit ramp south of La Cantera Parkway (Exit 556 B), and the Loop 1604 EB WB mainlanes, collector-distributors and frontage roads at the I-10 interchange. Additionally the I-10 WB to Loop 1604 EB exit ramp, the Loop 1604 WB to I-10 WB exit ramp, and all four cloverleaf ramps will be closed. These closures will be in place for bridge construction and bent cap placement.
The closures are expected from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2024 through 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, weather permitting. This is a weekend closure and these lanes are expected to remain closed for the duration. Please note these are the minimum closures required for the anticipated work. All closures are subject to change and modification as necessary. Local law enforcement will direct traffic through intersections during this time.
DETOUR INFORMATION
I-10 EB to Loop 1604 EB
All travelers on the I-10 EB mainlanes looking to access Loop 1604 EB will continue through the Loop 1604 interchange and exit to the I-10 EB frontage road via Exit 557 and utilize the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard. They will follow the I-10 WB frontage road to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road, entering the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
I-10 WB Mainlanes to Loop 1604 WB
All travelers on the I-10 WB mainlanes looking to access Loop 1604 WB will exit via Exit 556 B to the I-10 WB frontage road. They will follow the I-10 WB frontage road and turn left at the signalized intersection onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Travelers may enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes at the first available entrance ramp.
Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes and to I-10 WB
All travelers on the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes will exit at the Vance Jackson Road exit to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road and follow signs to I-10 EB. Travelers will utilize the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard, entering the I-10 WB frontage road. Those looking to access the I-10 WB mainlanes will utilize the first available entrance ramp. Those looking to return to Loop 1604 EB will follow the I-10 WB frontage road to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road, entering the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
Loop 1604 WB Mainlanes and to I-10 EB and I-10 WB
All travelers on the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes will exit to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road just before the I-10 interchange. Those looking to re-enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes will continue through the I-10 interchange and enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp. Travelers looking to access I-10 will utilize the signalized left turn onto the I-10 EB frontage road. Those looking to access I-10 EB may enter the I-10 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp. Those looking to access I-10 WB will continue on the I-10 EB frontage road to the UTSA Boulevard turnaround, entering the I-10 WB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
