FULL WEEKEND CLOSURE

Loop 1604 Westbound Mainlanes between Blanco Road Exit Ramp to NW Military Highway Entrance Ramp

WHAT TO EXPECT

As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will fully close the Loop 1604 westbound (WB) mainlanes from the Blanco Road exit ramp to the NW Military Highway entrance ramp to perform a drainage crossing.

The closures will begin 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2023 through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, weather permitting.

These lane closures are to remain in place for entire duration from Friday night to Monday morning.

Local law enforcement will direct traffic as-needed.

DETOUR INFORMATION

Loop 1604 WB Mainlanes:

All  traffic looking to travel WB on Loop 1604 will detour to the WB frontage road lanes via the Blanco Road exit ramp east of Blanco Road. Traffic will continue travel on the WB frontage road and re-enter Loop 1604 WB via the NW Military Highway entrance ramp.

All closures are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

WEEKEND CLOSURE

through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2023

• Loop 1604 Westbound and Eastbound mainlanes between NW Military Highway exit ramps to NW Military Highway entrance ramps

• NW Military Highway intersection (Northbound and Southbound mainlanes) including turnarounds

WHAT TO EXPECT

As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will fully close the Loop 1604 eastbound (EB) and westbound (WB) mainlanes from the NW Military Highway exit ramps to the NW Military Highway entrance ramps for setting beams at the NW Military Highway bridge. The intersection at Loop 1604 and NW Military Highway will also be fully closed, including turnarounds.

The closures will begin 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2023 through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, weather permitting.

Local law enforcement will direct traffic as-needed.

DETOUR INFORMATION

Loop 1604 WB Mainlanes:

All traffic looking to travel WB on Loop 1604 will detour to the WB frontage road lanes via the NW Military Highway exit ramp west of Bitters Road. Traffic will continue travel on the WB frontage road and re-enter Loop 1604 WB via the NW Military Highway entrance ramp west of NW Military Highway.

Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes:

All traffic looking to travel EB on Loop 1604 will detour to the EB frontage road lanes via the NW Military Highway exit ramp west of NW Military Highway. Traffic will continue travel on the EB frontage road and re-enter Loop 1604 EB via the NW Military Highway entrance ramp west of Bitters Road.

NW Military NB Mainlanes to Loop 1604 WB:

All traffic looking to travel WB on Loop 1604 will take the EB frontage road to the Bitters Road turnaround, then re-enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes via the entrance ramp west of Bitters Road.

NW Military SB Mainlanes to Loop 1604 EB:

All traffic looking to travel EB on Loop 1604 will take the WB frontage road to the Lockhill Selma turnaround, then re-enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes via the entrance ramp west of NW Military Highway.

Long Term Full Closure

Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023

• Loop 1604 westbound to eastbound turnaround at La Cantera Parkway / John Peace Boulevard

WHAT TO EXPECT

As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will be fully closing the Loop 1604 westbound (WB) to eastbound (EB) turnaround lane at La Cantera Parkway / John Peace Boulevard for retaining wall operations. WB frontage road traffic will be directed to use the signalized left turn lane to access the EB frontage lanes.

The turnaround closure will begin Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023, and will be a long-term complete closure, weather permitting.

DETOUR INFORMATION

Travelers along the Loop 1604 WB frontage road looking to access the EB frontage road will use the signalized left turn at La Cantera Parkway, go under Loop 1604, then use then use the signalized left turn to access the EB frontage lanes. Traffic traveling through the La Cantera Parkway intersection on the WB frontage road will not see changes to their normal traffic pattern.
