Houston office relocation

Reminder: The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles’ (TxDMV) Houston Regional Service Center will open in a new location at 2110 East Governors Circle on Monday, October 27.

The current location at 7721 Washington Avenue will close at the end of the business day on Friday, October 24, and staff will move over the weekend so there will be no interruption in service to customers.

The relocation is necessary due to the sale of the current property which was owned by the Texas Department of Transportation.

The Houston Regional Service Center is the busiest of TxDMV’s 16 regional offices and serves the following counties: Austin, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris and Waller. Services include replacement titles, bonded title rejection letters, apportioned registration and annual permits for motor carriers, and the investigation and resolution of vehicle title errors.

Please note that most vehicle title and registration services including title applications and registration renewals are processed by the tax assessor-collectors’ offices in each county which work in partnership with the TxDMV.
