The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) adopts rules in the February 27, 2026, issue of the Texas Register. The adopted rules are available on the TxDMV website at https://www.TxDMV.gov/about-us/general-counsel/proposed-and-adopted-rules-2025.
The adoptions include:
- revisions to 43 Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 206, relating to Automated Vehicle Regulation Advisory Committee (AVRAC); and
- revisions to 43 TAC, Chapter 217, relating to personal identification requirements for vehicle registration under Texas Transportation Code, §502.040.
