Governor Greg Abbott waived the time in which to apply for a vehicle title and the associated delinquent transfer penalty as of March 16, 2020. As a result, the 30-calendar day timeframe to accept a Law Enforcement Identification Number Inspection (Form VTR-68-A) was extended until the end of the waiver period. The temporary waiver period covers March 16, 2020, through April 14, 2021.
Effective April 15, 2021, a Form VTR-68-A may not be accepted if it was completed more than 30 days prior to the date of submission.
