Texas Permitting and Routing Optimization System (TxPROS)
Upgrades on September 28, 2020

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will upgrade the Texas Permitting and Routing Optimization System (TxPROS) on September 28 to add a new self-issue permit type and other features that will improve the overall customer experience.

Amendments

The upgrade will allow customers to self-amend some active permits one time. The items that may be amended will vary depending on the permit type. From the dashboard, customers will select the permit number and then select Amend under the Action column.

Quarterly Hubometer Permits (HUB Permits)
TxPROS customers will also be able to self-renew or close-out an existing HUB Permit. A new button, Hubometer, will appear on the customer dashboard. Upon selection, a list of current HUB Permits will appear. Customers can select to View, Closeout/Reissue, or amend the license plate on the unit through this new feature.

Additionally, a HUB Permit fee estimator has been added. This may be accessed through a new button, HUB Estimator, on the customer dashboard. Enter the current permit number and the end reading of the unit’s hubometer to receive an estimate of the fees due.

With these new features in place, effective September 28, Quarterly Hubometer Permit applications will no longer be accepted by fax.
