Governor Greg Abbott granted residents of counties affected by Hurricane Harvey a temporary extension to renew their vehicle registration. This was done by proclamation on August 28, 2017. The Governor signed a proclamation yesterday extending the original proclamation another 30 days. The new waiver is effective until November 15, 2017.
The temporary waiver is restricted to vehicle owners from the counties in the proclamation referenced above. The most recent proclamation includes an updated list of counties afforded the temporary extension and is attached for your convenience.
