Social Media Toolkit: Building Healthy Relationships

Hello prevention community!

DFPS has historically served as a champion for various campaigns designed to raise awareness and mitigate the risk of abuse or neglect for children in Texas and promote positive outcomes for the family. The Prevention and Early Intervention Division is teaming up with the Office of the Chief of Staff, Statewide Intake’s Youth Helpline, and the Faith Based and Community Engagement Division to develop a streamlined strategy to elevate the importance of children having safe, stable, and secure relationships with the adults that care for them.

This February, which is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month (TDVAM), we are launching a unified strategy to raise awareness that safe, stable, and secure relationship are an essential part of a healthy childhood. Our efforts will focus on:

  • promoting healthy relationships between children and their parents or the adults that care for them;
  • ensuring parents/caregivers have the tools they need to have conversations with their children about healthy peer and dating relationships, concepts of bullying, bystander intervention; and
  • sharing resources to support healthy relationships between parents/caregivers.

These messages and links can be used as is or they can be customized in any way that works best for your community by directing to your prevention program’s information.

Warmly,

PEI Communications
