City will test Warning Siren System at noon today

Dallas – The City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will conduct a “quiet” test of the City’s Outdoor Warning Siren system at noon today.

A “quiet” test means that each of the City’s 156 Warning sirens will complete one full rotation of the siren mechanism and will only make a three to five second burst of noise as the siren motor rotates.

“With severe weather season approaching, we want to be sure our system is operating properly,” said Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator Kevin Oden.

For questions or additional information on the Outdoor Warning Siren system, contact the Office of Emergency Management at (214) 670-4275.
