Looking for a parking spot in Dallas? Now there’s an app for that.

(Dallas, TX) - The City of Dallas and ParkMe announce the launch of a new app that will help drivers find, secure and pay for available parking. The new app is free to download and is available on iOS, Android and Window phones.

Features of the app include limited real-time parking availability, direct routing to parking garage entry points, a parking rate calculator helping drivers find the cheapest option, and a timer that alerts drivers when it's time to move their vehicle. The application also links to the PayByPhone service, which allows drivers to pay for metered parking.

“This is a great step in making travel around the City easier for our citizens and visitors,” said Dallas City Manager A.C. Gonzalez. “This app is an asset to drivers in Dallas.”

The President and CEO of Downtown Dallas Inc. says this app will especially help drivers navigate downtown Dallas, where parking is at a premium.

“Creating a user-friendly, easily navigable experience when parking Downtown is key. The ParkMe system achieves many goals outlined in the ‘Reform the approach to parking’ strategy of the Downtown Dallas 360 plan, including leveraging technology to improve consumers’ familiarity with Downtown. This is a significant advancement for our city and the ParkMe app is a welcome, innovative, and exciting addition to the array of technology options and services available to help visitors easily navigate Downtown,” said John Crawford, President & CEO, Downtown Dallas, Inc.

The ParkMe app can be found on your app store, on the mobile webapp ParkMe.com or by visiting www.ParkMe.com/Link/Dallas.
