DALLAS: Oak Cliff Cultural Center presents GET MOVING WEDNESDAYS, a themed dance series that takes place every month to teach people different forms of movement and encourage them to remain active. This month’s theme is Bachata. Classes will be taught by Abraham Joseph Lopez, II from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesdays, May 14 and 28, and June 4 and 11, 2014 at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, 223 West Jefferson Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75208. Dance Instructor, Abraham Joseph Lopez II specializes in Bachata, Cha Cha, Mambo, and Salsa. He and his wife, Ana were also the Artistic Directors of New Generation Dance Group that went on to perform at the world renowned Puerto Rican Salsa Congress. He has danced at several competitions and presentations across the country and is excited to bring Mambo to Oak Cliff.
ABOUT OAK CLIFF CULTURAL CENTER
Oak Cliff Cultural Center is located in a historic storefront in the vibrant commercial district of Jefferson Avenue in Oak Cliff; the Oak Cliff Cultural Center opened its doors in August 2010. The facility was purchased and renovated by the City of Dallas through the 2003 Bond Program to function as a permanent City-owned arts center where residents and visitors of Oak Cliff could experience a variety of arts and cultural programs. The 5,000 sq. ft. storefront features a visual arts gallery and a dance studio/rehearsal space.
