Trinity River Wind Festival with 2000 Girl Scouts

 

What:                 The 4th Trinity River Wind Festival presented by the City of Dallas and Trinity Commons Foundation is the most unique festival in the Southwest. Activities at the Trinity River include public kite flying, City of Dallas Kite Giveaway, show kite teams from the Southwest, international stunt kite flyers, Girl Scout Zone, Kids Fun Zone, Dallas Zoo, Blackland Prairie Raptors, Disc Dogs, North Texas Hang/Paragliding Association, and it is a bike and dog friendly event. 

When:                Saturday, May 17, 2014; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Where:               Girl Scouts Council Bridging Ceremony (10 a.m. to noon) 

106 Continental Avenue Bridge West Dallas Gateway; staging on West end 

Trinity River Wind Festival (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

146 Commerce St. parking at Riverfront Blvd. and Commerce St. Festival held near the Trinity River in the Dallas Trinity River Basin.

 About the Trinity River Corridor Project:

The Trinity River Corridor Project is the largest and most complex public works and urban development project undertaken by the City of Dallas. Projects opening this spring/summer include Sylvan Avenue Bridge, Trinity Skyline Trail, Continental Avenue Bridge West Dallas Gateway, and the AT&T Trail. Projects under construction are the Baker Pump Station (opening fall), The Horseshoe Project, IH-35 and Margaret McDermott Bridge (IH-30) (complete in 2017), and The Texas Horse Park (opening October 2014). Martin Luther King Jr. /Cedar Crest Bridge and Joppa Gateway are under design. Over 12 miles of new forest and floodway trails are open for hiking or bicycle riding.
