The Dallas Franchise Expo partners with

the City of Dallas and the Office of Economic Development

The Franchise & Business Opportunities Expo is pleased to announce a partnership with the City of Dallas and the Office of Economic Development. The Dallas Franchise Expo takes place at Dallas Market Hall, May 17 & 18, 2014. The event is the ideal opportunity for visitors to speak directly with representatives from proven franchises and business opportunities now available in Dallas. This event plays a critical role in helping people find the business that is right for them.

Forging a partnership with the City of Dallas was a logical step in the planning process for event organizers because of the shared goals of both organizations to foster a strong economy in Dallas and provide the tools necessary for the City's residents to achieve success. “The City of Dallas Office of Economic Development is committed to helping Dallas’ small businesses grow and prosper. Small businesses are the engines of job creation and essential to strengthening not only our local economy but the national economy as well,” said Karl Zavitkovsky, City of Dallas’ Economic Development Director. “We offer small business owners the tools and resources needed to start and grow their businesses providing an environment to be successful.”

Nearly 80% of businesses in Dallas are classified as small businesses and account for a significant number of jobs, employing nearly 40% of the City’s workforce. New small businesses can struggle trying to build brand awareness and sales in the early stages of the start-up. Franchising is a good answer to improving overall business success. Buying a franchise more than doubles a person’s chance to survive as a business owner. “We are pleased to produce an event that brings together North America’s fastest growing franchises and business opportunities with potential business owners who are looking for their next path to success,” says Fred Cox, President of National Event Management. “Face-to-face meetings are the best way to research a business ownership opportunity as well as compare and contrast many great new concepts looking to expand in Dallas.”

While the event provides a platform for discovering an ideal business fit, it also provides valuable business seminars, including Lee McKinney, Assistant Director of the Office of Economic Development, who will be speaking about “How the City of Dallas Supports Small Businesses.”
