 American Heroes Exhibit Features U.S. Military Veterans
Have you visited Dallas Love Field recently and stopped by the showcases near the baggage claim area?
Our latest exhibit features portraits of nearly 40 military veterans from Texas who served during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
We held a special ceremony on September 30 to unveil the powerful images that remind us of the sacrifices made to protect our rights and freedoms.
 Preferred Master Plan Alternative Revealed
Concluding the Love Field Master Plan effort to identify the quantity/capacity of facilities needed to meet future demand, a preferred development path was selected, and a plan for its phased implementation will be defined.
The preferred plan identified 14 key strategic projects that will be incorporated into the airport’s largest capital improvement program in its history - Love Field Expansion Airport Program (LEAP). The program includes a new terminal headhouse in the footprint of Garage A (at the end of its useful life) with split level frontages, 50-foot widening of the existing concourse, new/additional parking (Garage D), remote economy parking, consolidated rental car facility, increased capacity for the Central Utility Plant, and several support facility/building relocations.

 Construction Project Near DAL Aims to Enhance Traffic Flow, Safety
A major City of Dallas Department of Transportation and Public Works roadway improvement project along Mockingbird Lane, from Lemmon Avenue to Cedar Springs Road, near Dallas Love Field (DAL), kicked off on October 6. The eight-week construction will result in lane reductions and temporary closures.
Travelers should plan ahead, as several key airport access roads will be affected, including Mockingbird Lane, Cedar Springs Road, Lemmon Avenue, and Denton Road. While the airport’s main drop-off and pick-up zones on Herb Kelleher Way in front of the terminal will not be impacted, passengers are advised to allot extra time to reach Herb Kelleher Way.
Public transportation and shuttle services are expected to run as usual, with public updates provided if any changes arise. DAL encourages all passengers and visitors to allow extra travel time during the construction period.

DAL Delivers Thousands of School Supplies
In the spirit of community service and engagement, and in keeping with our
annual tradition, Dallas Love Field divided thousands of school supply packages among nearby schools, including, Thomas J Rusk Middle School and elementary schools Maple Lawn, Obadiah Knight, and K.B. Polk Center. The supplies included pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks, erasers, and rulers.
 Dallas Vertiport Closes Temporarily for Reconstruction
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved the temporary closure of the Dallas Vertiport, located adjacent to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
The closure accommodates a demolition and reconstruction of the facility as part of a multi-year project to build a new and expanded convention center in the Central Business District.

Our Love Helpers took a break from the busy airport over delicious servings of Hutchins BBQ on August 15.

Whataburger/Campisi's Reopens
After months of renovation, Whataburger and Campisi’s highly anticipated ribbon-cutting ceremony at Dallas Love Field made headline news on September 9.
The ceremony also drew the presence of City Manager Kim Tolbert, a few Council members, and even Champ, the energetic Dallas Mavericks mascot.
The event signaled the restaurants’ popularity among travelers and their status as revenue juggernauts for the city.
Career Days and Airport Tours
The Community Engagement team continuously visits local schools and gives students an up-close look at different aviation career paths.
