SDFP Area Plan Adopted!
On June 25, 2025, the South Dallas/Fair Park Area Plan was adopted by Dallas City Council after 4 years of hard work and dedication from task force members, neighborhood residents & leaders and Planning & Development staff.
This comprehensive, community-driven plan lays the foundation for equitable growth and revitalization, centered around six guiding principles: Land Use and Zoning, Economic Development, Community Well-Being, History and Culture, Infrastructure and Housing.
Thank you to all of the task force members, with special thanks to Task Force Co-Chair Tabitha Wheeler-Reagan and Chairman Scottie Smith II. Additionally, we honor Hank Lawson, a community activist & urban planner, whose leadership has been a driving force advocating for infrastructure and economic development within the business community. We also honor the legacy and leadership of the Honorable Diane Ragsdale, whose creation of PD595 set the foundation for this major milestone.
“This is far more that a plan. This is a declaration: that South Dallas is no longer waiting. We are building. This is our implementation strategy. And a reminder that It’s Always Sunny in South Dallas!” - Chairman Scottie Smith II
