Sprouts ribbon cutting

Sprouts Farmers Market Celebrates Ribbon Cutting

On June 20, 2025, City of Dallas officials joined hundreds of Dallas residents to celebrate the grand opening of Sprouts Farmers Market, located at the northeast corner of North Hampton Rd and Fort Worth Avenue in southern Dallas. The grocery store is providing neighborhoods in north Oak Cliff and West Dallas with greater access to fresh, natural, and organic produce and food in areas where residents have historically faced limited availability of healthy food options.

New Retail Coming to Lancaster Road

On June 11, 2025, the Dallas City Council approved an amendment to the Lancaster-Corning Retail Development Project incentive package to support the new $8.3 million retail development at the northwest corner of South Lancaster Road and East Corning Avenue near the Kiest DART station. The changes to the incentive package addressed modifications needed for the development to accommodate the two proposed anchor tenants: Frost Bank and Wingfield’s Breakfast and Burger.

Park South Y Ribbon Cutting

Park South Family YMCA Celebrates Reopening

On June 24, South Dallas celebrated the grand re-opening of the Park South Family YMCA. The previous Y was demolished and replaced with a brand-new, $17 million, 38,000 square foot facility featuring an indoor pool, a weight room, senior space, preschool class rooms and group exercise classrooms. 

The City awarded a $7 million New Markets Tax Credit allocation to support the project.
