 Dallas City Council Approves Amended Incentive Policy that Includes a Small Business Program
On January 8, the Dallas City Council unanimously approved an amended City of Dallas Economic Development Incentive Policy.
Among other changes, the amended policy creates a Small Business Assistance Program, which is a City-wide program to provide grant assistance to Dallas small businesses to assist with real estate or property improvements as they grow and/or move into Dallas store fronts or offices.
For projects located in Target Areas, the minimum investment needed for the project is $150,000. For projects not located in Target Areas, the minimum investement is $250,000. The maximum project size is $2 million.
City support for qualified projects is up to 15% of the total project cost, and can increase to up to 25% with qualified job creation. >>Learn More
 Vogel RedBird Celebrates Ribbon Cutting
Southern Dallas gained a new, high-quality childcare center at the Shops at RedBird with the January 27, 2025 ribbon cutting ceremony of The Rita Sue and Alan Gold Child and Family Center. The facility will be operated by Vogel and serve 134 children between the ages of 6 weeks old through prekindergarten.
City Council supported the project through approval of a $6 million New Markets Tax Credit allocation in June 2023.

South Dallas/Fair Park Opportunity Fund Human Development Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) Coming Soon!
The SDFPOF Human Development NOFA will open on February 18 for applications for grant funding. Human development grants support new or expanded programs that create measurable improvements in workforce participation, small business growth, health, public safety, and educational outcomes within the SDFPOF service area. These grants are exclusively available to initiatives benefiting SDFPOF service area residents.
