The Dallas City Council public hearing to receive comments on the proposed City of Dallas FY 2023-2024 Urban Land Bank Demonstration Program Plan has been moved from March 27, 2024 to April 24, 2024. The 2003 Texas Urban Land Bank Demonstration Act allows the Dallas City Council to adopt an Urban Land Bank Program. This program permits the Dallas County officer charged with selling real property ordered sold pursuant to foreclosure of a tax lien to sell certain eligible real property to a land bank created by the City of Dallas. These properties may be conveyed to the land bank by private sale for purposes of affordable housing development or commercial purposes. The Plan provides a description and procedure for the sale of vacant tax-delinquent property for development of affordable housing to low-income households and for commercial purposes. The Plan includes a list of property addresses that may become eligible for sale to the land bank during 2023-2024 fiscal year. Consideration for final approval of the Plan by the Dallas City Council is scheduled for April 24, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers – 1500 Marilla Street.
