Dallas Airport System Presents: Leaps & Bounds – Igniting Futures in Aviation
In Partnership with Dallas Independent School District (DISD)
DALLAS – Dallas Airport System (DAS) will host a one-of-a-kind aviation-focused event, "Leaps & Bounds," in collaboration with the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) on February 28, 2024, at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Approximately 250 DISD middle school and high school students and staff will attend the all-day educational affair featuring Captain Barrington Irving, a two-time Guinness World Records holder as the youngest and first Black pilot to fly solo around the world and founder of the nonprofit organization “Experience Aviation” as the keynote speaker. With a commitment to advancing racial equity and supporting the minority community, "Leaps & Bounds" brings DISD and DAS together, marking a transformative moment for the education and aviation industries. This innovative initiative symbolizes dedication to diversity, inclusivity, and shaping a future that embraces the boundless possibilities of aviation and technology. Join us in propelling the next generation forward!
Media are invited to attend the event, but RSVPs are requested as space and interview availability with Captain Irving are limited. Please RSVP to AVIMedia@dallas.gov by February 27, 2024, at 2 p.m.
