Welcome to the First Edition of the Small Business Initiatives & Diversity Inclusion Newsletter. The newsletter will highlight open procurement opportunities, small business announcements with the city, upcoming events, and resources to make doing business with and in the City of Dallas easier.

B.U.I.L.D. (Broaden Urban Investments to Leverage Dallas) Ecosystem will accept applications June 15 – 30, 2021 to launch the B.U.I.L.D Small Business Microgrant Program assisting small businesses impacted by the economic downturn caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic. The program will provide businesses in Dallas County with no more than 1-5 employees and annual revenue under $51 thousand, with a one-time grant of up to $2,000.
The primary focus of the Small Business Grant Program is to fund Minority Women-Owned Businesses in Dallas County. Information on eligibility requirements, restrictions, and other aspects of the program are published on the B.U.I.L.D. grant portal (https://www.zoomgrants.com/zgf/BUILD2021).
B.U.I.L.D links a wealth of resources and initiatives across Dallas county to provide a centralized resource for small businesses at every stage of the business cycle. The B.U.I.L.D. Ecosystem was launched in June 2020 and includes over 600 Business Service Organizations and small business resources.
