Motion-operated, touch-free amenities highlight multimillion dollar renovations at northwest Dallas recreation center
WHAT:
Ribbon-cutting for the reopening of Bachman Recreation Center.
After closing almost two years ago, the 42-year-old facility now features a fresh modern interior and exterior. Its new amenities include state-of-the-art motion-operated, touch-free restroom doors - the first of its kind to be installed in a city recreation center.
Since it first opened, Bachman has offered traditional and adaptive leisure activities for individuals and families with - and without - physical and cognitive disabilities. The National Recreation and Park Association reports that more than 56 million Americans have a disability and 50 percent of them don't get any physical activity.
