Fair Housing
COVID-19 Emergency Fair Housing Funding
The Senate and House are considering proposal options to address the housing and economic fallout of the COVID-19 crisis. Due to ongoing issues and challenges many tenants and homeowners are facing in trying to pay for and maintain their housing it is imperative that financial resources be made available to avoid an ancillary crisis of homelessness. Some of the most impacted include people of color, women, and people with disabilities. It is because of these issues it has become imperative that Congress works to create housing and economic stabilizing proposals that increase resources for fair housing. These funds are needed to enable practitioners to address heightened levels of potential discrimination, educate the public and the housing industry of the laws and protections under fair housing and to ensure that federal programs being deployed are administered in a way that affirmatively furthers fair housing.
- We need everyone to contact your representatives in Congress to ensure we have the adequate resources to respond to potential issues of discrimination during this time of crisis. In order to find your representative and their contact information, click here.
