WHAT:

Opening of Outdoor Adventures: The Natural Wonders of a Child Photography Exhibit

Twenty youth photographers selected from across the city will have their images on display in the photography exhibit – Outdoor Adventures: The Natural Wonders of a Child, which will showcase at Dallas City Hall March 3 – 13, 2020.

The exhibit opens March 3 with a reception from 5 to 6 p.m. for the photograhers and their families to celebrate the talents of the artists as they embark together on a terrific journey viewing the natural world captured through the camera lens.

The photographers are participants in the Dallas Park and Recreation Department's Outdoor Adventures Program that provides non-traditional outdoor recreation opportunities to youth.

Children in the nature photography classes were taught different composition techniques such as Rule of Thirds, Contrast, Diagonal Lines, Use of Color, and Framing.  They explored outdoors with cameras in hand to capture the beautiful and unique images of nature.

During 2019, more than 1,000 youth, ages 8-12, participated in Outdoor Adventures, which exposed them to mountain biking, camping, nature photography, archery and more.
