Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Atkins to again hold Community Office meetings;
The District 8 Councilmember will meet with constituents where they live
DALLAS, TX – Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins is continuing an initiative he first began two years in District 8: Community Office meetings.
“It’s important to let the community know that city government is there for them,” Atkins said. “’With the economy it’s hard for some residents to get to City Hall, so I want to be sure we are available to the people we serve.”
Mini Town Hall meetings with Councilmember Atkins will also be held from 6 to 7 p.m. during the Community Office days. City staff will be at Mini Town Hall meetings to answer questions about code enforcement, police, economic development, sanitation, or other issues.
“People just need to let my office know two weeks in advance what issues concern them and their neighborhoods, and we will have the appropriate staff members present to answer questions at the meetings,” Atkins said. The 311 Mobile Unit will also be available from 2 to 7 p.m. to accept service requests.
District 8 Community Office will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. at these locations:
Jan. 24: Fireside Recreation Center, 8601 Fireside Drive
Feb. 28: Singing Hills Recreation Center, 1909 Crouch Road
March 27: Kleberg Rylie Recreation Center, 1515 Edd Road
April 24: Tommie Allen Recreation Center, 7071 Bonnie View Road
May 22: Highland Hills Library, 3624 Simpson Stuart Road
Residents can call (214) 670-4066 to schedule an appointment at any of these Community Office locations.
