The City of Dallas Requests Your Participation

Attention: Dallas Regional Business Community

The City of Dallas is committed to ensuring all businesses have equal access to City contracts and purchases. In order to gauge how we are doing, we are seeking your input for the Availability and Disparity Study. The information obtained will help determine what changes should be made to procurement policies and procedures, including those of our Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) program. The City contracted MGT Consulting Group (MGT), a nationally recognized firm, to independently conduct the study. MGT will evaluate the utilization of Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) firms in City procurement/contracting activities in architecture and engineering, construction, other services, professional services, and goods.

Regional/area business owners are invited to provide information about their experiences doing business or attempting to do business with the City or on City projects at an upcoming public engagement meeting to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on February 26, 2019  at the Bill J Priest Economic Institute located at 1402 Corinth St., Dallas TX 75215. Registration is encouraged but not required – click here to register.

During the public engagement meeting, MGT Consulting Group will receive additional comments regarding:

  • Your ease of identifying City contract or subcontract opportunities.
  • Your recommendations for improvements to the existing Business Diversity Program and bid/proposal procurement policies and procedures.
  • Your successes or barriers encountered when doing business or trying to do business, i.e. bonding, insurance, disparate treatment, etc.

MGT Consulting Group has partnered with Consumer Market Insights, Innovative Strategies, and Rincon & Associates to assist with collecting and analyzing anecdotal information.

This is a great opportunity to share your experiences doing business or attempting to do business with the City and its prime contractors/vendors. You may not have this opportunity again for another five to seven years.
