Mayor Pro Tem Caraway Mourns Death of 13-Year-Old Lancaster Girl Found in Oak Cliff Neighborhood
Dallas City Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway offers his condolences to the family of 13-year-old Shavon Randle. She was reported missing on Wednesday, June 28 and an amber alert was swiftly issued by police. Unfortunately, her body was found days later at a home on the 2200 block of East Kiest Boulevard in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas. According to police reports, the Lancaster teen was kidnapped in retaliation for a drug theft she had nothing to do with.
“As a father, I can only imagine the pain the Randle family must be feeling at this moment,” Caraway said, “and I pledge to do all I can to bring the alleged perpetrators to justice.”
Mayor Pro Tem Caraway plans to attend a vigil tonight in honor of Shavon Randle and encourages the community to come out to support the Randle family and denounce the violence that led to her death. The vigil is being organized by the Next Generation Action Network.
