Fair Park 5K Urban Dash provides fun test of skills on nontraditional course

Runners will gather at Fair Park on June 18 for a very different kind of dash through the historic fairgrounds.

Urban Dash combines a traditional 5K run with a nontraditional series of obstacles on the course designed to challenge the strength, balance and fitness of the participants. Before they reach the finish line, runners must maneuver through train tracks, hurdles, fountains, tires and junk cars.

This is the fifth year participants in the popular Fair Park 5K Urban Dash will ramble up Cotton Bowl ramps, cross cattle rails, traverse balance beams, climb walls and dive through dumpsters to test their skills and agility.

Urban Dash is an untimed fun run. Participants can go at their own pace, choosing to walk or run the course and bypass obstacles that may be too challenging.
