City seeks citizen feedback on annual operating budget

The City of Dallas is offering citizens the opportunity to voice their opinions about a number of important budget issues, from infrastructure improvements to code compliance by completing a quick survey.

“This is a way for citizens to have a voice in the City’s budget development process for next fiscal year, and it takes just seven minutes,” said Office of Financial Services Director Jack Ireland. The survey asks residents to weigh in on a number of issues, including how they prioritize services such as street maintenance/repair, code compliance, libraries, parks, and police.

“Understanding citizen priorities is an important part of developing the operating budget for the City,” Ireland said. “Citizen’s perspective is very important.”

Deadline to complete the survey is 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24. The information will be provided to the City Council for their consideration.
