NIGP Commodity Book Numeric Index Update

The Statewide Procurement Division is excited to announce an update to the online National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) Commodity Book search tool. The NIGP Commodity Book has been prepared for the use of bidders, vendors and state agency personnel. Procurement professionals use the NIGP codes to identify vendors through the Centralized Master Bidders List and Historically Underutilized Business Directory that can provide commodities and services to Texas government. The state of Texas has marked certain codes for information technology and related commodities and services as Automated Information System (AIS). Previously, AIS was denoted with an asterisk. The asterisk has now been replaced with an easy-to-view Yes or No in the AIS column in the search tool and related download, making AIS items easier to filter and identify.
