Tracing Virus’ Effect on Texas Revenues
In the September issue of Fiscal Notes, we examine the Comptroller’s July update to the Certification Revenue Estimate (CRE), which projects how much revenue will be available to state government for the remainder of the 2020-21 biennium. This update was prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the worldwide economic turmoil that accompanied it.

We also take another look at Texas unemployment, which remains high due to lingering effects of the pandemic-spurred recession.
