In addition to Congress, there are elections for governor and the state legislature. Voters in several Shelby County municipalities will also elect local officials, including mayors, aldermen, commissioners, and school board members.
There are also three proposed state constitutional amendments and three Memphis city referendums. We've written out an explanation of each of them on our website HERE.
We're also planning a Justice on the Ballot voter education event, tentatively scheduled for Monday, October 26, to help residents learn more about the proposed constitutional amendments and Memphis city referendums. Be on the lookout for more details, including the time and location, on our website and social media accounts.
We're fortunate to live in a country where we have the right to participate in free elections, a right not enjoyed by many people around the world. But we can't take that right for granted. We need to exercise it if we want to preserve free and fair elections for future generations.
A right is like a muscle: if you don't exercise it, it weakens.
Get some exercise.

The case stems from the fatal shooting of Blake Rhea outside Louis Connelly’s bar on South Cleveland Street. Digital evidence also included internet searches on Wurl’s phone and Facebook activity involving Rhea.
Wurl testified in his own defense. Sentencing is forthcoming.
