Dear Community:
I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and strong.
As the Executive Director of the Community Oversight Board and Metro Nashville Oversight, I am proud of and motivated by the dedication and commitment of our community members who support the work of this agency.
We appreciate the many who have stood in solidarity with us as we navigated through some very tumultuous times. We continued to endure during a pandemic, national unrest, and the uncertainty of the direction of our beloved nation. We witnessed national disasters and cities in turmoil. We felt the pain, fear, and loss that permeated across the States. Times have been tough, but we have to continue looking forward as we move into the changing of a season.
As fall has crept in and we look around at the changing colors of Nature, let that be a reminder of the beauty in tough times.
No matter what happens, the fall reminds us that Thanksgiving is nearing. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect, as well as, an opportunity to spend time with those we hold near and dear. I believe that together, we can have renewed strength and inspiration.
I will leave you with this: Don’t forget to come up with creative ways to spend time with family and friends during this holiday season. Cherish your time together and make memories that will mark this unusual time in history.
