Mayor Barry Visits Sunnyside

On Thursday, January 28th, the Historical Commission welcomed Mayor Megan Barry, District 17 Council Member Colby Sledge, and many of our Waverly-Belmont neighbors to Sunnyside for a ceremonial signing of the Waverly-Belmont Neighborhood Conservation Zoning Overlay District (Ordinance No. BL2015-84). The Waverly-Belmont district, which covers 148 acres, includes almost all of the National Register-listed Waverly Place Historic District. Thirty-one years after Waverly Place was listed in the National Register, the historic neighborhood is now protected by neighborhood conservation zoning. Congratulations to those who volunteered countless hours to this endeavor!
