 Mayor Maureen Fraser has officially proclaimed April 19–25, 2026 as Volunteer Week in Collierville, recognizing the impact of volunteer service in building a stronger, more vibrant community.
Collierville is strengthened by the dedication of Special Citizen Volunteers, Adult and Teen Library volunteers, the team of volunteers at the Animal Shelter, and Recreational Sports Coaches who mentor local youth. The Town also benefits from the support of community partners including the Friends of the Morton Museum, the Friends of the Collierville Burch Library, and the Collierville Citizens Police Association.
Residents serving on Volunteer Boards and Commissions help guide the Town’s vision, while civic groups, houses of worship, and everyday volunteers continue to make a difference through simple acts of service that strengthen the community.
During Global Volunteer Month, we recognize that every act of service, big or small, makes a difference. Join us in thanking our volunteers and finding ways to give back!
 It’s also National Library Week, and this year’s theme is Find Your Joy! It’s the perfect time to celebrate stories, spark curiosity, connect with others, and make memories for all ages.

Library Bingo on Monday, April 20: 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Puzzle Party on Wednesday, April 22: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

 Join us at the Morton Museum of Collierville History on Tuesday, April 21 for the annual Friends of the Morton Museum meeting, followed by a fun evening of Mahjong. The Annual Meeting begins at 5:30 p.m., with open play (members only) at 6:00 p.m. Learn how your membership supports the Museum and take part in our Mahjong membership drive, annual memberships are just $10 for individuals and $15 for families, with sign-up available on-site. Light refreshments will be provided. Please bring your own Mahjong set and player cards. Whether you're a longtime supporter or new to the group, it’s a great way to connect, play, and support local history.
Sounds Like Collierville Returns🎶
Sounds Like Collierville returns to Town Square for its second year with a special America 250 theme. This free, family-friendly bluegrass and Americana festival features three days of live music, storytelling, and hands-on fun.
Kick things off Thursday, April 23, with a program that blends live performances and storytelling to explore 250 years of American popular music. The program features an accomplished group of musicians – Bailey Bigger, Wyly Bigger, Andy Ratliff, and Mark Edgar Stuart (registration required).
Friday night, celebrate the 27th annual Collierville Square Bluegrass & Old Time Music Jam. Bring your instruments or just a chair to listen to the community jam and performances by Kelly Hunt & Sara Morgan at 7 p.m. followed by The Tennessee Tradition at 8 p.m.
On Saturday, enjoy a Classic Car Show from 10 am to noon, a full day of live music at the Gazebo, and interactive workshops throughout the Square. Wrap-up the weekend with a special performance by 2026 Tennessee Songwriters Week Finalist Derek Sellers, followed by Gia Welch and JD Westmoreland.
The event will conclude with the Jim Hurst Band. Hurst is a two-time winner of the International Bluegrass Music Association's prestigious award, "Guitar Player of the Year."

Shelter Pet Spotlight - Meet Oreo! 🐾
 Oreo is a young adult female Domestic Short Hair cat with a classic black-and-white tuxedo coat. She is a medium-sized girl with a sweet, gentle personality. While a bit shy at first, Oreo is affectionate and friendly once she warms up, and she especially enjoys calm, gentle pets. She’s also quite talkative and fully house-trained, making her a loving companion ready for a patient and caring home.
