Central to become George Latimer Central Library, $1 million endowment announced
SAINT PAUL – Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman will today be joined by Mayor George Latimer, City and civic leaders during a ceremony to officially rename the Saint Paul Central Library to the George Latimer Central Library in recognition of former Mayor Latimer’s service and dedication to the residents of the city. Mayor Coleman will unveil a bronze plaque bearing the library’s new name and Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library will announce a $1 million George Latimer Endowment Fund as well as a major new fundraising initiative to support a lecture series and library programming aimed at reducing summer learning loss among children.
