Applications Opening April 5th: Neighborhood & Cultural STAR 2024 Grants

Applications for Saint Paul’s Neighborhood STAR and Cultural STAR grant programs will open Friday, April 5, 2024. Online applications for both programs will be due Wednesday, May 15 at 4 p.m. 

Neighborhood STAR grants fund capital projects in Saint Paul neighborhoods and Cultural STAR grants support arts and cultural organizations and events in Saint Paul. 

Visit the program websites for more information on this year’s STAR programs. The 2024 guidelines and information on application workshops will be available in March. 


St Paul Expungement Clinic

The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office is hosting an Expungement Clinic in St. Paul at Springboard for the Arts (262 University Ave W) on Saturday, March 23 from 10am-5pm.

If you have a criminal record for an offense that was prosecuted in a state court, attend this event to see if you qualify for expungement at no cost to you. Sealing, or expunging, a criminal record can make it easier for you to obtain housing, get a job and certain types of job-related licenses.

Youth Summer Sports registration is open through the end of March. Youth sports are FREE at all rec centers for 10U and up! 


Tax Assistance

Do you need help with your taxes this year?

Prepare + Prosper offers free tax preparation, financial coaching, and helps people obtain banking access. Tax preparation is done by IRS-certified volunteers. 

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides free tax assistance with several preparation options now through April 15. 


Energy Assistance

Minnesota's Energy Assistance Program helps to pay those energy and water bills. You may apply online or in person.

You can also apply through the Community Action Partnership of Ramsey & Washington Counties (CAPRW) website. The CAPRW site lists the St. Paul location, hours, and phone number to call for questions.

Inspire Public Art for the North End Community Center

Help create stencil designs that will be used as inspiration for a mural and decorative fencing at the soon-to-be North End Community Center! This opportunity is free and open to ages 8 and up. Registration is required.

  • WORKSHOP ONE: Monday, March 25 and Tuesday, March 26, 6-8:30pm
  • WORKSHOP TWO: Monday, April 1 and Tuesday, April 2, 6-8:30pm

Workshops take place at the Right Track office (1022 Marion St), located across the park from where the new community center is being built.

Come see the eleventh annual Northland Cup! Sunday, March 24th at the TRIA Rink downtown (400 Wabasha St N), doors open at 11:30am, puck drop at 12:30pm. Free and fun for the whole family! 

Proceeds from the City vs. County charitable hockey game will go to the St Paul & Ramsey County Domestic Abuse Intervention Project.

Dealing with a dumped mattress? Or have one that you need to get rid of? 

The City of Saint Paul is partnering with Ramsey/ Washington Recycling & Energy and Second Chance Recycling to offer mattress and box spring recycling collection.

In an effort to recycle mattresses and box springs and keep them out of the trash, mattress pick-up comes at no additional cost to all Saint Paul residents.
