Your New St Paul City Council!
Greetings from your new City Council representative -- Hwa Jeong Kim! I am an organizer, Korean American, nonprofit executive director, and graduate of Hamline University in Saint Paul. I am a proud North End resident who was first inspired to get involved through volunteering at the Rice Street branch of the Saint Paul Public Library. I later went on to serve as part of the North End Neighborhood Organization, the Saint Paul Planning Commission and its zoning committee. From 2018 to 2021, I was the Legislative Aide for Ward 5.
I have spent the last several years working to elect diverse, progressive candidates to offices throughout Saint Paul, and have been serving as the executive director of Minnesota Voice, a nonprofit focused on voting rights, voting access, civic engagement, and education.
I am proud to be serving as the new Council Vice President. I will also be a Council representative for the Dispatch Policy Committee, Metropolitan Transportation Advisory Board, League of MN Cities, Joint Property Tax Advisory Committee, and Audit Committee.
Lastly, I am happy to share that I'll be continuing the great Ward 5 tradition of Lake Laps! Reach out to the Ward 5 Office to schedule a time to chat while we walk or roll together around Lake Como.

Opportunity for Public Comment: Rulemaking Engagement Survey
The Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) is seeking input through their survey on cannabis industry licensing and social equity considerations. This input will be used in drafting rules for the new cannabis industry in Minnesota. As part of the first phase of rulemaking engagement, OCM will gather input through surveys on a variety of topics as the agency begins drafting rules to ensure the rulemaking process is accessible to the widest possible range of community members, advocates, and partners who want to help shape how the rules are drafted.
The deadline to provide input is Jan. 26, 2024 for this survey. The next survey will be available Jan. 29-Feb. 11, 2024 on Laboratory standards; edible products standards.
