East Side Neighbors & Electeds: Building Community Forum
Please join Councilmember Nelsie Yang, Commissioner Xiong and Minnesota State Representative Liz Lee, City Councilmember Jane Prince, School Board Member Jim Vue, and School Board Member Uriah Ward at our Building Community Forum.
The event will be on September 20, 2023 from 6PM - 8PM at Arlington Hills Community Center. Free food and water will be provided!
We will share collective priorities, legislative accomplishments, and a shared vision for the Eastside. Share your thoughts, experiences, and concerns so we can better serve you at all levels.

Public Budget Hearing
Join the Saint Paul City Council on Tues, Sept 19th at 5:30pm to share your voice on the City of Saint Paul's 2024 budget. Attend in person at Como Lakeside Pavilion (1360 Lexington Pkwy N, St Paul, MN 55103) or watch the livestream and submit your comments to Contact-Council@ci.stpaul.mn.us.
Free Meals for Seniors
North East Seniors are resuming their prepared meals and food box program, also known as Doorstep Delivery. Food boxes will be available for pick-up and delivery starting Thursday, September 7 (1PM - 3PM).

China Friendship Garden Celebration of Friendship and Moon Festival
Come to the MN China Friendship Garden in Phalen Regional Park (1640 Phalen Dr) on Saturday, Sept 23rd from 11am - 5pm to celebrate 35 years of Saint Paul-Changsha sister-city friendship and the Twin Cities Moon Festival!
There will be dancing, poetry, visual arts exhibits, all day family and personal photography, food and moon cake tasting, a 5k fun run and children's playground. Hope to see you there!
Arts Impact for Individuals Grant Program
The Arts Impact for Individuals grant program provides up to $5,000 for artistic projects in Minnesota led by individuals. Projects must be focused on creating access to the arts for Minnesotans, and/or engaging with Minnesota communities through artistic endeavors. This grant program is open to individuals who identify as any of the following:
- Black, Indigenous, and/or a Person of Color (BIPOC); and/or
- Disabled/a person with a disability; and/or
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual/Agender, Two-Spirit (LGBTQIA2+)

Check out East Side Neighborhood Development Company’s Friendly Storefronts Program - Grant funding is available for façade improvement projects on a first come basis.
