Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission Application
The Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO) Commission is seeking new members. This commission works to promote human rights and opportunities in St. Paul. The Commission reviews the Department’s performance, advises the City on related policies and may hold hearings to decide human rights cases brought under the City ordinance. East Metro Main Street Economic Revitalization Grants Available
Is your business along Payne Ave, Arcade St, East 7th St, or White Bear Ave? If yes, apply for the Main Street Economic Revitalization Program! This program will distribute up to $7 million in grants to businesses and nonprofit organizations for capital projects in select St Paul business corridors. Grants will support economic recovery from the impacts of civil unrest, the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges to these commercial corridors since March 15, 2020.

Input on Possible Truck-Parking Ordinance
Discussions are underway about a possible restriction on truck parking in St Paul. A possible ordinance could limit semi parking to off-street locations only within the city.

Seeking Community Reparations Commission Staff and District Council System Liaison
The City of St Paul is now hiring a Community Reparations Commission Staff and District Council System Liaison! This position has two key areas of responsibility: 1) staffing the Saint Paul Recovery Act Community Reparations Commission; and 2) serving as a liaison between the City and the District Councils, working alongside the Department of Planning and Economic Development to build the capacity of the District Councils and improve communication and coordination between them and the City. Property Tax Deferral for Senior Citizens
Property Tax Deferral for Senior Citizens through the State of MN may allow you to defer a portion of the property taxes you owe.
The property tax you pay will be 3% of your total household income based on your prior year income. The state pays the remainder as a loan.
When you sell your home or voluntarily cancel the deferral, you must repay the loan plus interest. The interest rate varies but does not exceed 5%.

Year Round STAR Grants
Do you own a business or run a non-profit in St Paul's 6th Ward? Are you in need of funding for a time-sensitive building repair or improvement?
You may be eligible for a Year-Round STAR Grant from Ward 6. Please email our office at Ward6@stpaul.gov with information on your project and to receive an application.
Applications are subject to approval from the St Paul STAR Board and St Paul City Council. Funding is given as reimbursement for approved expenses, up to $15,000 per project per year.
