Rec Check After School Program

Space is still available in our free Rec Check after school program. Rec Check provides a variety of structured, supervised recreation activities for youth in grades 1-5 who live or attend school in Saint Paul. Programs are also available on days when SPPS is not in session.

Hamline Park Rendering

Now Open: Hamline Park Play Area

The newly renovated Hamline Park play area (1564 Lafond Ave) is now open. The new play area includes swings, slides, climbers to access the play equipment deck, and a climbable frog for younger users. The playground includes accessible elements that provide play options for people of all abilities. We will continue to provide upgraded amenities across the city to increase access and use of park spaces to our residents.  Watch the video recap of the grand opening celebration to learn more. 

Phalen China Garden

New Features Planned For Phalen China Garden

The Saint Paul - Changsha, China Friendship Garden is located in Phalen Regional Park on Saint Paul's East Side. The Minnesota China Friendship Garden Society is working with Saint Paul Parks Recreation to add new features and expand the space. Watch this video to learn more or visit mnchinagarden.org.

Fall Aquatics Programs

Visit the Great River Water Park website for fall open swim, lap swim and water aerobics hours as well as new, discounted morning and twilight rates on select days. One-month and three-month memberships are available for purchase online and registration for fall swimming lessons is open.

Summit Ave. Regional Trail Master Plan

Visit UnVessel from 11am-3pm on Oct. 30 at Lilydale Regional Park for one last chance to experience Tia-Simone Gardner’s experimental site-based work exploring landscape photography and the Mississippi which draws on historical connections between Blackness and the river.

Como Fall Flower Show 2020 Sunken Garden

Como Park Conservatory Fall Flower Show

The Fall Flower Show features a variety of chrysanthemums and fall favorites. The first half of the Fall Flower Show runs Oct. 9-31. The second half of the Fall Flower Show runs Nov. 6-28. There will be a mid-show change Nov. 1-5 in which the Sunken Garden will be closed, but all other rooms of the Conservatory will remain open to the public. Reservations and face masks are required for all Como Zoo & Conservatory visitors.

Langford Park Hockey

Langford Park Hockey gets youth excited about the outdoors in the dead of winter, helps them develop their hockey skills, and teaches them to respect each other and work as a team. Registration is available for ages 5-14.
