St Paul Public Libraries is Hiring
St Paul Public Library is Hiring! You can apply for the Community Library Manager II position which has openings at the Arlington Hills and Rice Street libraries. Click below to apply! It is also exciting that SPPL has expanded the list of accepted eligibility requirements for this position to include experience other than a master's degree in library science. People with backgrounds in youth work, education, nonprofit leadership, “third space” development and management, community organizing, librarianship, and more will make great candidates for these roles.
The new requirements for this role continue SPPL’s commitment and strategic goal to increase career pathways within the Library. As the roles libraries play in our communities have continued to evolve, so have the roles of library staff. This expansion of eligibility requirements will help the City attract a broad range of candidates committed to equity in public service, collaborations with community members and organizations, and continue to help ensure our libraries welcome all people to connect, learn, discover, and grow.
Governor Walz's 'Your Shot to Summer' Statewide Initiative
There's a new statewide COVID-19 incentive campaign encouraging Minnesotan's to get their vaccine during the next month. The goal is to have 70% of our state vaccinated by July 1st. The first 100,000 Minnesotans who get their first shot between May 27-June 30 will be able to choose a reward of their preference from a wide-ranging list of options, including state park passes, fishing licenses, gift cards, and tickets to summer attractions and events. Beginning June 1st, you can verify your first dose and indicate your preferred vaccine reward at mn.gov/covid19/summer.
Where to get your vaccine? Walk-ups are ongoing now through June 8th at the MN State Fair Grounds! https://mn.gov/.../find-vaccine/statefairvaccine/index.jsp
