Ayd Mill Road to Reopen

Beginning Nov. 7, Ayd Mill Road will reopen to vehicle traffic and a new off-street pedestrian and bike trail along the corridor will also be open. The new speed limit on Ayd Mill Road is 35 mph.

To celebrate the reopening of Ayd Mill Road and the new bike and pedestrian trail, Mayor Carter invites community members to join him Saturday morning, Nov. 7, for a socially distant bike ride or walk along the new Ayd Mill Road trail, from 9-11am.

Campaign signs can’t be placed in your recycling cart

Campaign signs cannot be placed in your curbside recycling carts, but here is how you can properly recycle, re-purpose, or dispose of your campaign signs after the election.

  • All campaign signs must be removed one week (Nov. 10) after the general election has been held.
  • Ramsey County residents are welcome to use Dakota County’s campaign/yard sign collection program. Drop off rigid plastic or cardboard campaign/yard signs and metal stakes Nov. 9-20, 2020 at one of three special collection sites.
  • You may also check with the campaign that distributed the election sign to see if they are collecting these signs following the election.
  • Signs may also be re-purposed. Add some paint and reuse for them for your next yard sale or birthday party, or search online for DIY ideas to turn them into storage containers, birdhouses, pet furniture and more.
  • Metal signs or metal stakes- you may separate any metal from the plastic campaign signs and recycle with scrap metal at a metal recycler.
  • Signs may also be discarded in the garbage
