Mississippi River Paddle Share set to reopen tomorrow in Saint Paul
Paddle share offers six-mile route from Hidden Falls to Harriet Island
Saint Paul – The City of Saint Paul today announced that the Mississippi River Paddle Share Hidden Falls Regional Park location will officially open for the season tomorrow, July 4. Paddle Share is an award-winning, first-of-a-kind self-service kayak sharing system that provides everything you need to get out on the water in the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.
This program is ideal for people with some kayaking experience looking to enjoy the Mississippi River in Saint Paul. Sixteen solo and tandem kayaks are available for $25 or $40, respectively, for three hours. Rentals also include paddles, life jackets, and maps. Kayaks can be rented Friday-Sunday and holidays during July and August, and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays in September, weather permitting.
To rent, customers reserve a kayak online at www.paddleshare.org and receive a code to unlock the equipment during their selected reservation period. At the end of the route, the equipment is then returned at Kelly’s Landing in Harriet Island Regional Park.
Saint Paul is also home a Paddle Share location at Pickerel Lake in Lilydale Regional Park for lake exploring. The Pickerel Lake station remains closed due to flooding but it is expected to open for the season in the coming weeks.
The Mississippi River Paddle Share season in Saint Paul runs through September 29, 2019.
