Saint Paul now seeking management partner for Como Regional Park recreational amenity

SAINT PAUL - The City of Saint Paul, through its Parks and Recreation Department, is now seeking a management partner for a miniature golf course or other recreational amenity within Como Regional Park.

The existing contract for the current miniature golf course within Como Regional Park has recently expired and the city is now accepting proposals for a management partner at the site.

“We have been happy with the miniature golf course in Como Regional Park and depending on the proposals we get, the space could continue to operate as a mini golf facility,” said Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Special Services Manager Susie Odegard. “But we are also open to new ideas. We have a lot of creative thinkers in our business community and we are very excited to see the proposals that come forward.”

In recent years, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation has adopted a standard of publishing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals at the end of agreement terms where there aren’t any renewal requirements.

“Periodically seeking out new proposals not only allows us to negotiate contracts that serve the public’s best interests, but also ensures we are giving all businesses interested in partnering with Saint Paul Parks and Recreation a fair and equitable opportunity to have their ideas considered,” said Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Director Mike Hahm.”

The City of Saint Paul will select the best overall proposal that enhances the recreational, social, and cultural vitality of the area while balancing the needs of the regional park. Operation of the new recreational amenity would begin next spring.

The deadline to submit a proposal is Thursday, November 16. Visit stpaul.gov/ComoPartner for full details on submitting a proposal.
