City of Saint Paul outdoor pools set to open
Perfect weather on the way for opening weekend

SAINT PAUL: School is almost out for summer, hot weather is on the way, and outdoor pools in Saint Paul are ready to open. Como Park Regional Pool and Highland Park Aquatic Center kick off the 2017 season this Saturday, June 10. Open swim begins at 11 a.m. at both pools and goes until 7 p.m. Both locations feature splash pads, lap pools, children's pools, diving boards, climbing walls, water slides, concessions, and locker rooms. Como Pool also features a zip-line and lazy river.

Phalen Beach, now featuring an all-new splash pad, also kicks off its season on Saturday. Daily hours at Phalen Beach this summer are 1-7 p.m. for open swim and 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. for the splash pad. There is no cost to swim or use the splash pad at Phalen Beach.

Tot Time at Como Pool is back by popular demand. Tot Time will take place every Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m., beginning June 10. Admission is $8 for one parent and child pair, a savings of $5. Each additional child is $4 and all children must be 0-6 years old. Only the splash pad will be open for Tot Time swimming and concessions are closed during this time. Everyone is welcome to stay for open swim at 11 am at no extra cost.

Pool admission rates:

  • Under 48" $6
  • Over 48" $7
  • Family (Up to 5 people, $4 for additional members) $24
  • Deck Fee (For non-swimmers) $4

Summer aquatics memberships and punch cards are available online. To help make entry to the pools as quick as possible, those who have purchased memberships online are encouraged to pick up their cards in advance at Great River Water Park
